Meet nom-nom, the visual storytelling studio behind the TO GO collections
We released our TO GO series in collaboration with nom-nom—the visual storytelling studio behind the shoot.
We asked them a few questions about their work, the process behind food photography, and the project with us.

Who are you?
We’re Corinne and Bettina. We founded nom-nom in 2017—a visual storytelling studio focused on food content and food imagery. We both originally come from the agency world and worked as art directors before going independent, so we bring not only a strong eye for visuals but also a lot of conceptual thinking.
How did you get into food?
Food has always interested us—not just visually, but also emotionally and socially. We actually started in a pretty classic way back in 2015 with a food blog. We realized really quickly how much we loved styling and photographing dishes, and that naturally turned into a specialization.
Food styling and photography became the perfect way for us to create worlds and bring our graphic style into a new medium.

What’s especially important in a food shoot? Is it different from other studio shoots?
Two things really matter: the ingredients and the temperature. We work in a very natural way most of the time, which means food changes fast if it sits around too long. There are tricks, of course—like fake ice or stand-ins for melting things—but honestly, time is usually the biggest factor if you want everything to look fresh and appetizing.
Who do you work with?
All kinds of clients in the food world—food brands and producers, industry associations, restaurants, chefs, retailers… basically anyone in the food space who needs strong visuals.

What was different about our Mockup.Maison shoot compared to your usual projects?
Normally, when we’re shooting in the studio, we’re much more involved in the concept and the preparation. With the mockup shoot, Mockup.Maison handled a lot of that—things like planning the motifs, choosing the model, and organizing the styling and wardrobe.
Why did you choose salad, burgers, and sushi?
They’re three of the most popular takeaway dishes worldwide, and they also give you lots of room for branding—packaging, colors, labels, all of that.

Do you have a dream project or a dream client for the future?
We honestly love the mix. We really enjoy reportage-style projects because you get to step into someone’s everyday (work) life and discover new worlds. But we also love still life—especially when we can bring in our own styling signature. And when those images end up printed, or even on posters, that’s always a special moment—it really speaks to our designer hearts.
